Overlooking Stanley Park and the North Shore mountains, Coal Harbour is a neighbourhood that includes 1.5 million square feet of office, retail and hotel space. It’s bound by the Financial District, the West End, and Stanley Park.
Coal Harbour is considered one of the prestigious neighbourhoods of Vancouver. The area is split into four regions with different profiles. The northwest is home to spacious parkland, private marinas, rowing and boating clubs, high-end shops and renowned restaurants. The east is predominantly historic, home to Deadman’s Island and the HMCS Discovery Museum. Moving towards the southeast, you will find the Financial District, an area with high-rise office buildings, apartment towers and hotels. South Coal Harbour is home to Vancouver's Luxury Zone along Alberni Street, home to stores from global brands such as Prada, De Beers, Hublot, Jimmy Choo, Panerai, Burberry, Rolex, and more.
Coal Harbour is a relatively small neighbourhood in terms of space, and considering the presence of many office buildings, shops, restaurants, and stores, residential dwellings are minimal. Most of the residents living here are young professionals and upper-middle-class elder residents living in luxury condos in a vibrant downtown area. The average price you can expect to pay for a condo is $2 million, while single-family homes and townhouses come at an average price of $3 million or more.
New developments with housing for about 3,500 people are underway as well, increasing the residential space available for purchase. In addition to this, a harbourside waterfront walkway and bicycle route along Coal Harbour will connect the neighbourhood with the Stanley Park Seawall.
