Robson Street is Vancouver’s most popular shopping and dining destination. The neighbourhood carries its name after John Robson, a Premier of the province in 1889 to 189 that played a major role in Canada’s history. Same as the person, the neighbourhood has a rich history that dates back to the late 1800s and several transitions that completely changed the look and structure of the neighbourhood.
One thing always remained throughout the years. Robson Street was and still is the place to go for commerce and social gatherings. Today, there are over 150 businesses where residents can shop, dine, and get anything they need. It’s so popular as a retail spot that it has one of the most expensive retail rental rates in the world.
The vibrant lifestyle and the popular shopping district attract people from all corners of North America, so property prices have been steadily rising. As a hub with luxury spots all around, most properties on Robson Street are luxury condos, penthouses, and lofts that fetch a price of $900k or more depending on the exact spot. Houses that sell in the area also have a high price that starts at $1.5 million. Most of them are on the border of the neighbourhood, but still at a walking distance of everything that makes Robson Street what it is today.
