Ron Parpara, Vancouver Real Estate Expert
Gastown is a National Historic Site, named after “Gassy” Jack Deighton, proprietor of the new settlement’s first saloon. In 1886, the town was incorporated as the City of Vancouver.
The neighbourhood was home to more than 300 drinking establishments before falling into decline after the great depression. In the 1960s a civic movement was assembled to keep Gastown’s unique Victorian architecture safe against being bulldozed for construction of a new freeway.
Today, it’s a bustling neighbourhood full of restaurants, nightclubs, and boutique stores. The housing stock in the neighbourhood is incredibly diverse - ranging from dilapidated old tenements to fully renovated lofts in beautiful buildings that once housed factories, offices, and stores.
I live in Vancouver, and consider myself one of the city’s biggest fans. As one of the area’s top-ranked Realtors, people look to me for in-depth knowledge of the Lower Mainland’s housing market. I’m a student of the City, and for a dozen years, I’ve been watching the shifts in the neighbourhoods, especially those with close proximity to downtown, with curiosity and interest. I’ve helped countless clients buy and sell properties in Gastown, and found that no two of them, or their accompanying transactions, were alike.
Vancouver has one of the most complex real estate markets in the world. Jumping in without arming yourself with as much expertise as possible is foolish. Whether you’re listing your property or looking for a new home or investment vehicle, the service I can provide is based in more than a decade of real, solid experience.
When you list with me, I will provide a full marketing solution, including staging, photography, and preparation of all print and online materials. I’ll make sure your property is prominently placed in the right advertising vehicles, including Facebook and WeChat. Your initial open house will have two agents on hand to ensure that no potential buyers are turned away because the event was too busy. When appropriate, I will work with agents who speak Mandarin and Cantonese, to ensure that your property gets recognition in the international marketplace.
When buying a Vancouver property, in Gastown or anywhere else, you need an expert on your side. I will represent your interests in a property purchase at no cost to you. You’ll get the benefit of my experience and my extensive network of contacts, and the confidence in knowing that I’ve helped my clients buy and sell hundreds of properties here in the city.
