While it was very underdeveloped by the end of World War II, there was a shortage of housing for war veterans, so more than 1100 homes were built to meet the growing demand. So, by the end of the 1950s, a lot of new homes were finished and new residents relocated to the area, which was the start of the rapid development of Victoria - Fraserview. 

Today, the area is a popular destination for Vancouverites to get fresh produce, fabrics, and imported goods sold by the locals. The local shops and ethnic groceries give Victoria - Fraserview a unique feel no other neighbourhood in Vancouver has.
