A quiet and suburban area located on the southern edge of Vancouver, Marpole is one of the oldest settlements of Vancouver. It has undergone a lot of change in the past due to the completion of Oak Street Bridge and the Arthur Laing Bridge that connected it to the rest of the city.
The neighbourhood is home to a blend of young students and senior citizens. Small, locally-owned shops and a few chain stores can be found throughout the Granville corridor. There is also plenty of green space for walks and recreation. Getting in and out of Marpole is pretty easy as it’s served by major arteries and public transit lines, which can at times make the area a bit busy.
