Although it wasn’t as popular a decade ago, the completion of SkyTrain's Canada Line put South Cambie’s name on the map. It slowly became known as a safe, easily-accessed area with low crime rates that is close to the downtown core and has homes up for grabs. While the neighbourhood itself is small with only ten blocks, it has a lot to offer as a home base.
A significant benefit of living here is the major Langara College. It has 40 continuing studies programs and a series of summer camps for teens that constantly bring young life into the neighbourhood. It’s also a major employer, so residents can work in a place steps away from their homes. Plenty of green space is also present in South Cambie. One of the most popular spots is Langara Golf Course, a city-run 18-hole public golf facility where locals and visitors can enjoy a relaxing game of gold.
More than half of the residential properties in South Cambie are single-detached homes with plenty of space for families, so there are many places to look at if you’re hunting for a new place to call home. The average selling price in the area is between $3 and $4.5 million for three to six-bedroom homes.
